GARDEN POTS

Finished my next strawberry planter without any disaster this time and I am waiting for all the garden pots to dry before the firing.

I also have some birdfeeders to fire and more stoneware pots.

Photos to follow soon.

The weather is a bit of a problem as it takes pots so long to dry with all the damp, not to mention it's really depressing and muddy.

I am aware that my ramblings don't seem to follow any pattern but that is ok, I'm a potter.

Messed that post up. The cafe pictures should have been on the previous post.

pots in the cafe at Rowallane Gardens.
The Market Kitchen cafe is well worth a visit. All food is baked from fresh daily, scones, cup cakes, Luara's speciality, wheaten bread and sandwiches are made to order. The coffee is the best around, no weak watery stuff, proper continental strength and taste. All too easy for me to nip across from the workshop and spend too long there.

New pots

well things got held up with no internet connection but all sorted out.
had another glaze firing consisting mostly of mugs as they always sell well.
Also tried out a new design through the slip, i like it.

Everything seemed to be going well recently, good firings, nice glazes and successful throwing sessions.Should have known better, if its going so well a disaster is just around the corner. Lost a huge strawberry planter at the final stage. After joining the two large pieces together and all going well and looking good I stood on the pedal, the wheel went full throttle and the pot is now in the recycle clay bin. 50lbs of clay aqnd no little effort.

Just have to start again.

SOME MORE POTS FROM THE FIRING

THIS BLOGGING REQUIRES TOO MUCH DISCIPLE BUT I AM GOING TO KEEP GOING. DID A GLAZE FIRING YESTERDAY AND I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. A GOOD CLEAR DAY REALLY HELPS THE KILN FIRE MORE EVENLY AND THE COLOURS SEEM CRISPER AND BETTER. ALL GOOD NEWS AS MOST OF IT WAS FOR AN ORDER.

PLATES ARE ALWAYS A HEADACHE, TAKE UP LOADS OF KILN SPACE.

I WANT TO PUT SOME PICTURES OF ROWALLANE GARDENS ON HERE AS IT LOOKS IMPRESSIVE THIS TIME OF YEAR.
